I agree with both of you. There are alternative ways of making gem elixirs: indirect method/double walled, using a photograph and placing a glass of water over the photo, or writing down the name of the mineral and putting the glass of water on that. I have done all 3 with successful results and have suggested same to others and they too had successful results.

This list is kind of vague about why each thing woul be toxic, but as I understand, basically one should avoid making elixirs from stones that contain copper, lead, mercury, etc. (I'm confused about "iron-nickel meteorite" though. Someone could have an allergy to nickel or an aversion to iron, but why would it be generally "harmful"?)

I'd like to add something to this regarding gem waters, with my knowledge of stones I would never recommend the use of gem waters as even "non toxic" stones can be potentially harmful as they can still contain trace elements of harmful materials.
I'd like to add something to this regarding gem waters, with my knowledge of stones I would never recommend the use of gem waters as even "non toxic" stones can be potentially harmful as they can still contain trace elements of harmful materials. There are also a number of stones that while not generally harmful and non soluble may release tiny fragments when put into water which once consumed can cause harm through materials (such as tigers eye which contains asbestos) that would then be absorbed or in the case of quartz will create tears in you organs which can be fatal in cases. So I would advise heavy caution and consideration before ingesting gem water, the alternative method of using stones externally such as placing them on skin or on clothing is a much safer method though some precaution is still necessary.
