Sometimes there are certain little things one might find either vintage/antique or perhaps pertain to that period... I have two that I will list -
One is a vintage HAPAG flag cap badge that was exactly the same that I had on my uniform during the late 1920's when I worked for Hamburg Amerika Linie. I keep it taped in my journal:
Another item is a ring I recently purchased. While not vintage, nor reproduction, it is meaningful to me in that - if a ring were to have been specially made for me back then while I was commander of U 47, I think that it would be been much like this ring. It has 'G. PRIEN' inside and 'SCAPA' on one side, 'FLOW' on the other. I used to, when I had attended WWII events in my area from 2004-2011, had worn a reproduction U Boat ring...which I outgrew, along with my uniform, having put on weight since I got healthier. Due to this, I didn't want to get the same ring again and wanted something that was more non-political in nature, yet still referred to my service. This fit the bill perfectly.
