A Poem about Bats

Going Bats!

Bats in the sky
Bats in the trees
Bats called Thelma
Bats called Louise
Bats against dark skies
Bats against light
Bats in the belfry
Bats in flight
Bats are our dark cousins
Bats are a delight!
Those slinky cats are looking for a meal
Walking across our garden, looking to steal
Predators in nature, each giving life and death
Bats upside down but not holding their breath!
Sentinels of dusk, moth wings spin
Bats are so hungry, dark is their skin
As dawn sings it's song, look out little blue tits
There's bats in the air, looking for a hit!
Ultrasonic is their call, clicking off and on
I always get excited, when bats sing their songs

They are for sure, I'm reading a book about bats and go on bat watch at dusk, very exciting hearing them on the bat detector and seeing them skim across the sky
