Arthur
From our family line
Arthur sprung to life
I thought of Arthur today
and tears came to my eyes
Julia's brother, a farmer you know
he was a young man, as I saw him
so full of smiles, that inner glow!
As my spirit travelled
there appeared rolling hills
trees dotted the landscape
insight grew...
So rich and green, everything around me was intense beauty
The rich golden sunbeams I couldn't see through
but I knew I must look
I saw Arthur walking beside his love
in bright yellow buttercups walking
together...I inquired of his love's name
Rose it was, again the family stamp
Arthur wore a cap, slightly tilted on his head
his love wore a straw boater, all gathered with thread
I noticed, they both wore smiles
I came up close
I could clearly see
a tweedy jacket held on two fingers
so casual...draped across Arthur's right shoulder
Not bold or anything in that vein, just comfy together
my eyes squeezed up tight, to see beyond bright
the sunbeams cleared and I saw Arthur and Rose
Under a tree in the shadows of love
their inner beauty became golden
and I knew that as light as a butterfly
a child called Primrose would be born
I guess she lives on in me
