Your image Morell reminds me of the Kundalini Serpent..infused via the roots of tree of knowledge..

Yeah, Kundalini is snake energy through chacras in bdy so I thought to turn it around and draw chacras on snake body.

Where being an artist is concerned,there is no definition placed on art,it just is...  outward expression or perception of the depth within ones soul placed onto paper in what ever media one chooses to project,and one has preference to subjects or types of format used to project it, be that pencil sketching,acrylic paints,oil paints, water colour paints,charcoal,pastel,metals,dusts,materials,clay's,glues etc and so on..what ever is part of ones expression outwards works..

This is a bad image (I really need to get a good scan.. I think this might be a scan of an out of focus photograph!) of a painting that is not that great to begin with, either... heheh... something I did in college about 20 years ago.

Oh Morell there is a lot you havnt taken in about me,I've shared it all in our home website.. I passed School Cert art but only just..as I didn't enjoy art at school cos I wasn't allowed to just do what I wanted and using my own mediums,I had to do the directed protocol stuff,which I had no interest in at all..my mind dont work like that, I'm more into free form flow on what I see through my minds eye or right in frount of me ..I am hands on talented though as I was taught by my foster father & mentor hense I went on to own my own recycled native NZ timber furniture business..where I sold items on commission sales in antique shops,sadly the market dropped out,but I still have some stock out in the shops and can take orders via them if the need arises..they are all French polished using shellac..

Arethinn I like your work,can you explain more on how you did them, is the first image computer generated? and the second hand painted acrylic or water colour?  I like the flow & colour combinations you have used on both of them. What does the numbers 4789 stand for in the second one?..and what does it represent like is there a story behind it?

Yes, the first one is all digital. The "trees" are actually generated by a "lightning" plugin I don't have for Photoshop anymore. The "fire" is manipulated from a NASA photograph of a nebula.

The second is acrylic on canvas board. There are some metallic paints that don't come across very well in the picture.

I don't know what you mean by "the numbers 4789". There's no numbers in that painting...?

As for what it is, it's sort of what the title says... sort of self-portrait. The wings are reaaally bad. The halo/corona is just a thing I associate with sidhe, sort of like in A.E.'s paintings, giving off light everywhere. The sky is all dark/dim colors because it's sort of... the Many Colored Land? but without light of moon or sun, just self-luminous, but dimmer than the sun would be... (although it's also not really the place I would call "the Greylight Plain".)

Sorry I totally missed the title you'd placed at the bottom, I can see really numbers on your work though,hense I asked my question.....I thought maybe it was a hidden message of some kind...do you not see it at all??..I attach a screen shot below and show you where they are seen..very weird or magical,would they mean anything to you at all..

And now I see everything that youve explained to me,its very well done your portrait,your wings are wonderful I see them...artists tend to be their own worst critiques so they tend to sabotage their own work,dont do that seriously its great..

Now this photo-shop is beyond me though..I'm not PC savey enough but its wonderful what you can create with it,especially for book graphics per'sey..though its not got the same feel as if you start from scratch with a sketch & then paint is it, cos dont you use other photo's and load them on your pc and then manipulate them using this photoshop app thingee so your not actually painting it yourself really???..is that how it work? correct me if I'm wrong cos I have no idea how its done.

I think it is just something about it being out of focus, or the JPEG compression, that is fooling your eye. In the original there is some lumpy texture in that area of the painting because it was painted over a previous one on the same canvas board, so maybe the shadows are creating the illusion of numbers. Well Arethinn I loaded your new image below of this painting to my pc and then when I enlarge it or zoom in on it using just my mouse noting else.. I see masses of numbers & letters to x's & r's all over it actually,I circled some of them but there are a lot more...the ones up by your head are X9 & 77-97..& 217 & 54 & R6...

there are also number sequences:- 11, 661, 398, 389, 238...

this is so weird... Or maybe I'm just weird ..

  One could see this as a message of some kind.. its kinda like angelic number coding & with those they are only seen by  those who have the ability to look further beyond the 3D reality,this is not termed as Pareidolia its actually Synesthesia abilities....Just thought I'd share it..as its kinda special..

What is so funny about finding numbers in her painting Morell?

It looks more like tengwar letters to me. But that aside, it is funny when Arethinn tries to make scan without them and the more he tries, the more numbers you can see.

That I can understand it is funny to some degree,however there are no number sequences in Quenya script,and I know what Sindarin and Black Speech looks like,this is not that,there is a mass of indented writing of numbers on this portrait,maybe it was indented before it was painted on IDK,you know when you write on a piece of parchment and the print gets indented on the next page below it, then if you paint on it this sometimes comes through,it cant be seen just looking at he picture in certain lights but up close it shows up....if you can see it too then its there for sure and not just me seeing it..

No and no. The fish was at the work, which means it was in pet store, so it was still for sale. Might still be there. These fish with less intensive color are always the last to be sold.

And in battlemode it looks different. This one was maybe even asleep when photographed.

Ahh but hes so unique,cos most of them are the normal blue & red colours boring everyone knows Saimese fighting fish in those colours so hes different - he must be a starseed what yah reckon LOL..
