Maiar are NOT angels!

I was wondering, why I dislike free book and directing runes I got for free from webpage elvenspirituality.wordpress.com, for it seemed very nice to me. Than I found out. I found this in more than this place and I must say it.

Don't dare to compare angels with Valar and Maiar! It is dangerous.

Why I care to say that? Because I must. There are two reasons and I believe that they are quite reasonable.

First: They are very, very different.While Angles are messegers and servants of god/Jesus, Valar and Maiar serve no one, they are free and independent and if they follow, then only by their free will.

Angels, when you meet them, push you into cristianity and fight with you, if you are mage or if you don't like cristian religion. They curse, bless, manipulate humans. Valar/Maiar do nothing of this. When they fight, they do so for preserving freedom of all and they do not desire to be worshiped, only honored as equals and free as they honor everybody else.

Second: Magic is forbitten to humans in cristianity, however angels do it everyday and in everything. Even the word angel/archangel is calling their energies. Comparing the earth spirits as Valar and Maiar to them doesn't change these free spirits, but connects you to chruistianity and it's "slavehunters" and can end by accepting it and loosing, who you are in the worst possibility.

You doesn't meet with Valar/Maiar in meditation, when you are meeting "angel like Vala", but disguisted angel.

Be weary about what do you say for you influence yourself and also many other who read, what do you write.

Valar are Valar, that word is, what describes them the best and the same with Maiar and with every kin.

Be weary for there is still much darkness in cristianity and the humans are not everyone around this "corporation", much remainst unseen and the last two thousand years shows enough about its intentions I believe.

So again I ask of you, do not compare Valar and Maiar with angels and archangels, it isn't for good at all. There are other ways to describe, who they are to those, who don't understand.

Why I realised it? I tried the meditation writen in the book about the star queen ynd instead of her I found only some angel, but I didn't see his disguise, I ignred him, but didnť see Varda anywhere. Something was wrong and today I realised, what it was.

I don't think the idea is that Maiar or Valar are literally angels in the common sense, but that it is an analogy about their level of power and the fact that they emanate from Eru. Certainly I would not approach the Valar in the way a Catholic or a ceremonial magician might approach an archangel, but I think that's more a mismatch of "culture" than it is because the place of the Valar or other Maiar in ME cosmology does not have similarities with the place of angels in Judaic/Christian cosmology.

Not all angels are Judaic/Christian, btw. Even here there are "independents" and beings of similar "level" that are attached to other gods.

To say Maiar are angles would be to say a balrog is good. As the balrogs and dragons were Maiar as well.

I tried to read that site and understand your concern in detail, but it was too hard to do. However, the terrors in the name of religion, horrors and violations and absolute insanity that have been called spirituality in the human world are now and have been present for so long in this world. In my opinion, it is the most disheartening sadness I see every day. Intolerance, misunderstanding and cruelty seem to take hold in groups of humans and tear apart families and friends, peoples and countries. I am not giving up on love. In my humble opinion the only evil is the one that tries to make us forget that we are from and for that love. In Elven World (the book) the evil is the one who pretends who lies and who entrap by getting people to hate in the name of love. It is the ultimate evil, prejudice is that, pitting culture against culture, group against group, mind against mind. It is SO HARD, such hard work to be in a place of love when one is being shot at, vilified and even when you must fight back for safety or reasons of integrity. The tree people, the butterfly people, the people of mountain and grasses and oceans, these beings do not judge. Reflect maybe, but judgement, I do not see that taking place. As soon as we begin to call things by any name, it goes awry, mixed up and confused. Names and labels and language and the past we can so easily become trapped in that web. I rather learn from nature who does not seem to have opinions as humans do.
