Lately it came to my attention not only that Disney bought entire Marvel, but also that they did trademarked Loki. That means his Marvel version. To ease some descrybing, take a look at the video instead.
If I can judge by this video, it seems to scare Ásatru/Heathen pagans. And not for entirely wrong reasons, big company raiding them for selling some religious Loki stuff might get into ugly and quite difficoult court.
It comes to problems between what is religious, what is free and what catually can be trademarked. What are your thoughts on it? Personaly I have no problems with that. Let them trademark "their" Loki, if they think it is right thing to do. They do need to protect their stuff, who doesn't? If they get out of bounds, there are powerfull gods that might have problems with that, and messing with the gods...
So no problem, but it is trully interesting thing to discus and think about. What do you think about trademarking gods? Isn't that over the top for you? It seems that for many it is. Makes one wonder if Disney would try to trademark Jesus. XD ...oh wait, they will, can't wait to see that. XD
