We ventured out on the highways yesterday, the Fourth of July for the first time in many years. It was an interesting trip as we observed the best in humanity on the roadways. People were driving way too fast, cutting others off and going along their merry way to destinations unknown. My Faery Friends laugh at our behavior and they shake their little heads in disgust and distain for what we have become. Don't get them wrong, they love us greatly, even more than they are willing to admit at times. But somehow this love turns to disbelief of the way we act towards each other.
Merelena, a little Sylph and named sake after "Merlin the Great" of Welsh literature tends to agree with this but she would like to describe her day yesterday with her Human family. “We drove to a far away place where there were beautiful water fountains at the Red Hawk Casino in the foothills of the gold country in Sacramento County. It was my first time to spend the day with Ron and Karen so I looked forward to this with great anticipation. Upon our arrival in the car we used the casino’s self serve drink area to get a glass of lemonade, with just a couple of ice cubes the way I like it. We found a nickel keno machine and there we sat playing until Ron got mad that he wasn't winning.
The best part of the day was the live band on a nearby stage that played a little country music but a real good string of Chicago Blues. It got my feet tapping and my wings fluttering as I was able to dance on the stage without being noticed by the loud and boisterous humans that had a little too much to drink. There were a couple of human girls who thought they were the life of the party as they bumped and grinded each other in front of the liquor bar to the beautiful music. They were kind of silly but entertaining and they were not hurting anyone, at least they were having fun.
We left late and I could have flown home much faster than Karen was driving but I liked the night drive with the moon roof open. My hair blew in the wind reminding me just how beautiful life really is. Ron got relaxed about half way home a quit worrying about the money he had thought he had wasted in the slot machines. He is silly like most humans when it comes to money. You should enjoy the tangibles while you have them. Once you leave this existence there is no more of the things you like to collect. Please live and love your life because there is only one, no more coming back for anyone. Love Merelena”

I agree with you nowadays about the best things in life being the free things.. I didnt think that way when I was young, but God has a way of getting to us humans .- We are just traveling through the Earth so we should enjoy all the beauty of Nature in every detail-- and fall in love with it while letting go of the boring things we latch onto. After seeing the memorial for Michael Jackson, I can't help but feel that he is in Heaven and could care less now of all the possessions he had-- and he had tons he used to collect- but they never made him happy. NOW he is truly happy :-)
