I haven't been to the antiques places in a few months, there are always new shops open there, so it will be good to see what's new

Sounds like bliss to me,..I love fosicking if thats the way to put it, going into opportunity  thrift shops to look in box's of junk in the hope of finding something unique & cheap..and Yes I have a number of friends who are antique dealers too.. as I used to sell my furniture in their shops..

I remember a majolica vase my mum had as a gift, it depicted a seashore raised design in turquoise.

Yes there's a big antiques emporium near to where I live, it's been shown on the Antiques programme in UK.  I was there one day when they were filming.  I've boat numerous things from there over the years.  It's called Dagfields.  I've bought quite a few crystals and old books, little vases, brass peacock plates, onyx goblets to name but a few.

Yes I've been raised in and around antiques my whole life almost, thats why,plus I live in a antique town,where there is like 5-6 antique shops.. I have huge collections of Majolica & I'm a avid pottery collector,& many other collectables..

I used to haunt the garage sales every weekend years ago,rain,hail sleep or snow as they say,but not so much these days since I purchased my own home, other things take preference.

You can sure spot a bargain, beautiful box too Vlada.  I have a dark amber which feels comforting to hold, I like that its warm to the touch.

Its actually raw Chinese 'Cherry Amber' Julie,its red in colour & rare, large piece, worth a small fortune,I've been told by a antique dealer,check out the prices of it online its just mind blowing... I came across it by sheer accident at the Ngatea Community Garage Sale a few years back now,I picked up a box on a small stall in the side of the road, which I thought was wood initially,and realised when I picked it up it was cold to touch & very heavy, the lady selling it said its soapstone, and the amber piece was inside it,so I purchased both for NZ$10.00, a real bargain...cos on researching it later I found out that its Vietnamese hand made and hand carved too,with beautiful patterns of a Lotus flower & leaf & tendrils around it and a dragon fly on top hand painted & dyed..very well carved,great trinket box for my rings & necklaces & bracelets, its 13cm x13cm so quite large,I've been asked to sell it many times by my mates wanting it for their ladies as a gift,its eye catching..but I wont part with it. ..here it is below..and a link to others to be purchased.

and did you know I bought myself a silver sheen obsidian bracelet and it arrived last night...then I looked in one of my crystal books and the silver sheen obsidian reference mentioned eagle.  The bracelet has a cat bead, just the head of the cat, good quality beads, very nice.  I usually make my own bracelets and pendants but when I saw this I felt drawn to it...glad you're sharing your crystals...what's the crystal on top of the solar light Vlada.  I was looking through my crystal collection yesterday and the crystal with the 5 on that had shown up when I got it I couldn't see any more and the crystal didn't feel very potent.  Amber is a favourite of mine so I have a few small pieces and an amber bracelet.  I find amber is particularly good in winter time as it has the sun inside
