Well I was just going to garage sales looking for bargains to be honest filling in time on Saturday mornings usually before I had to go to clients as I work every third weekend on a rostered system.. what was happening in my life well the usual nothing outstanding,working on my home,putting in a new kitchen & bathroom..what attracted me to it, I knew instantly it was old & a antique by its design, I also knew it was precious gemstone as its weight told me that, and I know silver when its old.. I havnt cleaned it even I like is tarnished look..but cant find out what gem it is..I will keep trying It could well be Selenite but I its too hard so I'm skeptical..I wont part with it, I use it on my alter regardless of not knowing what it is..its decorative and slightly ethnic looking to which I loVe..
Hope you find out what the stone is Vlada...what do you intuitively think...go back to when you bought the necklace, what were you're feelings when you saw it, what attracted you to it...what was going on in your life at the time
Yes I admit I initially thought it was Selenite too... but its pretty hard and dosnt bruise when tapped like Selenite does,if its been shaped its been very done well,as its got definite columns running down each bead, and on the edges you can see into the crystal itself it also has tube like structures running through it easily seen on the edges,it kinda reminds me of the fibres you see when you cut a bamboo horizontally [see image below]
..its so weird..moonstone was a thought with me too,but again I cant be certain...thanks for giving me the time to try and find out what this necklace beads are,I might also take to the local crystal shop in town and see if she can help, though shes not that up on identity geology she told me last time I tried to identify a black rock I'd found out trekking that resembled Shingite & I was left none the wiser...
I Love tourmalines..I love the water melon and the black tourmaline, well i have learn something, i didn't know that all these stones were in fact tourmalines :o)))

Yes, but a tourmaline , would be more transparent, I think it is a selenite, it has the vibe of it :o)
Just wondering whether the stone has been shaped, its also possibility of moonstone, but as Ametrine says its still a possibility on selenite which can be shaped, and polished and it feels cool. The only other crystals I can think of with lines are tourmalines, but to be honest I've never seen tourmaline in this colour before but I'll take another look online for tourmaline colours
