Today a beautiful iridescent turquoise dragonfly alighted on me in the garden. It was a magical moment and seemed connected to the faery realm. The dragonfly was quite young, I think.

Boldylocks, I feel that the faery were present at the ritual and that the butterfly somehow represented them or transmitted their energy, but was not a faery itself. Well, I felt honoured that they were present, in fact when I was preparing the ritual, they asked to be included. I started off by addressing the archangels to the four directions, and there was a very strong elemental response. When the ritual started, there was a resonant boom of thunder from the clouds above the Tor: to the South, the clouds opened and an incredibly hot sun beat down, as Archangel Michael was invoked. Also to the East, whenever Archangel Raphael was addressed, there was a responding breeze springing up - other people in the group noticed it. It was quite a thrill to be in nature, communicating with the angels and faeries like that. :)
I'm sure the yellow and black butterfly had a message for you, and appreciated your blessing. :)

Alison, even if that butterfly was not a shapeshifted faery-- I feel it was being instructed by the Fae to rest on your foot and then fly to that Elven Star platter. I read the Fae know the art of communicating with the animals and insects.

I do feel they felt very honored that you people had that ceremony acknowledging them-- especially in a World where so few humans even believe in them--much less cooperate with them in helping this Earth.

Just this afternoon I was outside near our Orange Blossom bush and was shocked to see a beautiful yellow and black butterfly getting nectar from one of the blossoms. I said, "Hello, you beautiful butterfly-- God Bless you!" and it flew near my face as though to greet me right back--then fluttered over to a tree in the farm fields. I could feel the energy and joy it gave off :-)

You got it right, Stonemagick, I'm a shamanic facilitator (altho this is not my "day job" exactly) and do work with people on healing, as well as other creatures and the land. Yes, often the creatures are not afraid of me.

Actually, it reminds me that I was doing a ritual at Glastonbury Tor with a group of people beside the ancient oaks, and part of this was an address to the fairy folk. I didnt see but others told me that a butterfly came and landed on my foot when I was addressing them, and then flew to the fairy platter with the 7 pointed star and landed on that. That was special.

Stonemagick, that's a wonderful idea of the dragonfly finding comfort in my vibrations. Someone kind of joking said that perhaps as part of its training, it was told by a dragonfly elder to have a close encounter with a human, and I was chosen because I wouldnt hurt it.
When its damp outside, we often encounter toads too, which I find lovable creatures too.

How beautiful! At the pond near our home, all last year I saw this bright red dragonfly -and it would come up to me --even when I was just walking on the side of the road near the guard rail! I never in our area saw a bright red dragonfly before- just the neon blue and green ones--which are also pretty. What was really cute -- the one day my little nephew was with me at the pond, and he had on a bright red t-shirt. The red dragonfly came up out of nowhere and went right up to him-- as though greeting him ;-)

I read that the Fae will often take the form of animals or especially dragonflies-- when they are curiuous of certain humans and want a better look with.

Multi Dimensional Reality

The world as you know it - all that you see, taste, feel and touch, comprises only about 5% of all of the stuff of the universe. The other 95% is what we have considered "nothing" or the "firmament"  or dark matter or the heavens or mystic Other Worlds. This 95% is multi-dimensional and consists of potential realities that may be perceived.

A single thought...a mere whisper, ...... barely upon a breeze that catches a spark... all is tinder before the firestorm... and yet.
ONLY that whisper
ONLY that thought
the world is forever changed beyond the fears and dreams of cardboard men.
Freedom and change starts within:
It is encouraged by truth and courage of people who love
Built by the respect of true beings standing as one before each other.
Lets us cross every man made borders
without fear stare into eyes and hearts of all our brothers and sisters: within our words without shouting,or force to hold each to our truths; and let us without fear freely share what works...
