In-between ~ A Poem

In-between

She had sailed part way to the island

walked bare foot on the land

Seen what she needed to sea in this lifetime

It was all that spirit had planned

In subsequent time she was dreaming

She was romancing of the stone

Her eye lashes heavy with dewfall

she knew how it was to be alone

As a maiden she had travelled

her eyes to the horizon and beyond

noticing all the significant landmarks

for her Beloved she had grown increasing fond

She caressed her hand and realised

that the Beloved was indeed her alone

There was no one for her to grieve for

except all the years that had flown

To the boat she gathered her starlight

tucked away hidden deeply inside

She knew she would understand each second

to the thrill she would secretly abide
