Puppy Paddles

The sun was shining

The moon had gone to sleep

I looked at you sleeping.

...not a peep!

I fell in love with you Molly

You are wiggly, soft and warm

You have big brown eyes

And a love to weather any storm

It was half past three

I felt the heat of the day

With you little Molly

life's all about play!

There's a shallow dish on the lawn

a watering hole for the birds

But you little Molly

I didn't need any words

You dipped one paw in the water

then flinched it back quick

Another paw dipped in

swiftly followed by a flick

There was no holding you back

you needed to cool down

I watched your little face

You wore a slight frown

There's no rules with a puppy

They're full of energetic shifts

Their little tails stand tall in the air

You smile and your mood just lifts
