I'd rather rescue them from that place Morell,treat their illnesses and then set them free to be allowed to live a life in the great wilderness where they belong where there is no radiation. Chernobyl is a place of death not life..

They get cancer from the radiation, they create mutations in their genes and pass it on to their babies limiting their life span..that's cruel & not peace.

I saw footage from TopGear, when they got there. Just to the city, but I understand why it became big inspiration for post-apocalyptic games.
Actualy it sounds reasomable that it remains in pockets. There is natural tendency to self heal, which works better on certain places and worse on others, there are ley lines and other such stuff, simply a lot that can be considered an influence on radiation.

Yeah I saw real time footage of Chernobyl and saw all that ferris wheels stuff,it was just left there rotting, that was a interesting doco on it all too, they clothed this dude & his team they had those Radiation Geiger counter thingee on them,and they went in and they recorded all kinds of things just left laying around,went into houses,halls,shopping malls and kept watching their counter thingee seeing it also rising,gees after a while they had the alarm bells going and had to get out of there,the readings had rose right up and too close for comfort. After all these years its still very active in certain places and not in others I found that weird,like its not all over the place as one would think, but in pockets in areas..anyway I'm ranting a bit, but it just was so interesting,these things we arnt told or taught,we have to find out ourselves..thank-you for sharing that trigger..

Elder of Lunapark atractions family was actualy telling me how he went to Chernobyl. There was lunapark during the time of the nuclear event there with czech atractions. Merry wheel still standing in Chernobyl was his own.
