I often wondered why the Milesians were able to defeat the Tuatha de Danann when the TDD were deities and the MIlesians were mortal. Somehow, I've had a feeling that the TDD to some degree allowed it.
It makes me think of Star Wars when Obiwan kenobi purposely lost to Darth Vader even though he didn't have to. The Tuatha were very powerful, so it's a bit puzzling...unless of course they allowed it and then not so. They must've realized they would have greater power in the otherworld.
