Of all colours, brown is the most satisfying.
~Mary Webb

Before my Pagan journey began, for many years I hated the descent into winter; as life retreated and the darkness and cold encroached, my gloominess increased. Pathologically blinkered against the beauty of winter for so long, I remember the change as a kind of road to Damascus moment, and the lightning bolt that struck was not electric blue or dazzling white but good old dependable brown.

I had once called brown ‘boring’, an absolutely no thrills colour. Maybe as we get older, flashiness grates and we yearn for subtlety, the spectrum of our appreciation widening. Or maybe, life cannot bare anyone missing out on the full extent of its beauty and so gives us a swift but sharp poke when we succumb to ignorance.

When I started to really see winter, I saw brown as if for the first time. Suddenly I was seized by the inadequacy of the word. How could there be only one quiet syllable for what appeared to be countless shades? It started with dying bracken; I couldn’t stop noticing it; the warmth and depth of the colours that networked the lanes and fields, covering woodland floors. Then it was the ploughed soil itself, the mud that tenaciously clung to my boots as if to say ‘notice me!’. Soon every brown became a focus for my fascination, the contrasting tones rich and exotic to my newly educated eye.

Nice pictures..just shows nature how it really is in different seasons..

Yes I notice that with my own garden, looking at the plant colours as they arise, there are colours for all the seasons.  Most things of nature are brown and green, the watery world are greys, blues, aquamarine.  Nature is subtle that's perhaps why we enjoy nature, our eyes aren't strained with neons and jazzy colours and discordant noises

Nature resonates on the Schuuman Resonance 7.83htz when I go out into nature I can feel this frequency altering my DNA,no matter what season, now Nikola Tesla said:-

“Alpha waves in the human brain are between 6 and 8 hertz. The wave frequency of the human cavity resonates between 6 and 8 hertz. All biological systems operate in the same frequency range. The human brain’s alpha waves function in this range and the electrical resonance of the earth is between 6 and 8 hertz. Thus, our entire biological system — the brain the the earth itself — works on the same frequency. If we can control that resonate system electronically, we can directly control the entire mental system of humankind.”..

So by going out into nature many times like I do, I'm actually aligning my own frequency with it too, that's why I feel so invigorated when I get home, its extremely healing at the same time, like if I had a stuffy nose being inside for too long persey.. when I start out on my trekk, by the time I get home my nose is way cleared..I believe the colours of nature work in the same way, each one is healing your right, there is a balance required for our eyes to visualise it all, hense why its not like a neon sign flashing in our eyes,I think if it were wed run a mile in the opposite direction.....

The trees and earth need our electricity from our bodies to help grow and balance as well, we are full of positive ions excessive, and the earth is full of negative so that's how we balance out...but frequency in transcutaneous electric neural stimulation (tens) effects the body and the brain..so to me its like a natural nature drug fix.. as I can visually see these frequencies too, trees are multidimensional & living fractals, and as such have dimensions that are, well, fractions...

as a teenager I could go into this weird trance states when I was sitting out in nature around trees not every time however... It's almost like I'm lucid dreaming, but I'm not as I'm awake...I believe its cos I'm connected to Gaia & calmed.. I'm walking around this super green forested areas, where everything is covered in moss, native ferns & forna & tall spruce trees which are changing colour this time of year, and I'm kinda naked, but nakedness doesn't exist or I'd be in trouble... and yet there are sprites and fae everywhere but they're moving so fast, I just see flashes of bright colors, purples and blues mostly... and there are animals everywhere just walking around in slow motion and there's this really huge redwood tree in the middle of the forest and it's surrounded by moss covered stones, and if I walk to the trunk and hold onto it, it puts me in this kind of astral state and I can see the entire history of the forest I'm actually in... like it was the main gossip columnist of sorts..

I love tree hugging and talking to them like that..Their thoughts are slow and they conveyed feelings instead of true audible words or images or the outlines of images. I have one tree in particular that I am so enraptured by,up on Primrose Hill, its not a young tree, I was sitting against it one day and he spoke to me, he asked me first to help him to scratch some bark off as he was itchy & it just wouldn't come off,he said he managed to shake off newer growth but not this old skin and it was annoying him..so I did and he thanked me... think it is a type of Dryadd to be honest,..check out the photo below [I want to paint him too] and let me know what you feel & see is it a Dryadd or just a old tree...as I just keep returning to it because when I came away I felt I'd learned way more, as I would hear its thoughts and it was pure peace. He shared so much wisdom without words too, soul wisdom, stories you feel in your bones..hense why I'm able to share this so vividly outwardly right now..

Thanks for the picture of the tree, he/she like all life has twists and turns, a eucalyptus from the look of the tree...I used to have one in the corner of my garden, and it is like they have a peeling skin.  He/she is your friend, you welcome him as he welcomes you.  He is a familiar face in a fast changing world...he's there for you and you're there for him.  Eucalyptus have an enormous root system, so I believe they will act like a musical conductor to others of the same nature.

You and the tree have formed a bond so it's natural to feel the Dryad type of energy and the urge to be at one and in union.

My first experience, also around the same age as you mentioned was walking down a field behind where I lived and lying in the grass seeing the sparkles of sunshine and feeling what I can only call blissful, I didn't want to move or go home I just wanted to be there in that state for all time.

I think the flashes of colour are what I see too, hence the coloured dots that move around on the window pane when I'm viewing outside from inside...its a happy excited feeling and I always feel glad that they're with me and the more I watch the more excited and "dizzy" they seem to become

Yes it is an Australian Eucalyptus and it was planted on top of Primrose hill as a remembrance by a relative of a fallen soldier from the first world war, along with 5 other trees, he's on the top rise facing South, an oak tree was planted facing West, and 3 NZ natives to the East...so it is old,..I will get a picture of the Oak tree too as its huge also... in the following years the Hauraki District Council planted  many more native trees all around the bottom section of the hill and then put in a walkway also around it, now all are well grown established so its a nice pleasant walk visually speaking..yes he's a grand old tree and his spoken demeanor is thus very old fashioned too, I had images in my head of a younger version of the grand Treebreard aka 'Fangorn' in the LOTR movie who carried the Hobbits...

Hes in a prime spot on the bank base of the beginning of the hill watching everyone going up & the kindergarten children across the road..he gets plenty of water run off fro the top of the hill he told me,so yes hi roots are deep into the bank on all directions..yes a friend indeed, as no one else has taken the time to speak to him he said, but then he would choose who he would trust & respond back to if they tried anyway,he said he saw my spirit instantly and knew I would respect him & his words & I was also rooted & connected in the ground like he is,..and so we had something in common...I just placed the term Dryadd on him as hes older, healthy as well as a talker..he's grown heaps in the years I've lived here..I've also given him a gift years back and he loved it,I made a wreath with some crystals in it..I should replace that with a new one as the wreath has rotted away now..here he is in the background of the war memorial standing forelorn..

I loved the character Treebeard :)

I had a tree several years back called the lightning tree, there was a blackened bowl like structure where I left a gift and tuned in to him.  It was a place I always stopped off on my walk taking photos and making videos of streams and trees.  I have so many pictures of tree companions where faces and figures are shown in the trees.

Could be an idea for me to put on a tree based discussion on tree of life group

Multi Dimensional Reality

The world as you know it - all that you see, taste, feel and touch, comprises only about 5% of all of the stuff of the universe. The other 95% is what we have considered "nothing" or the "firmament"  or dark matter or the heavens or mystic Other Worlds. This 95% is multi-dimensional and consists of potential realities that may be perceived.

A single thought...a mere whisper, ...... barely upon a breeze that catches a spark... all is tinder before the firestorm... and yet.
ONLY that whisper
ONLY that thought
the world is forever changed beyond the fears and dreams of cardboard men.
Freedom and change starts within:
It is encouraged by truth and courage of people who love
Built by the respect of true beings standing as one before each other.
Lets us cross every man made borders
without fear stare into eyes and hearts of all our brothers and sisters: within our words without shouting,or force to hold each to our truths; and let us without fear freely share what works...
