Hello, 

I have become interested in Soil since I saw the work of Sadhguru via @twitter.com/expectsuccess called #SaveSoil.

Then one of my students chose for her essay topic the subject of baby food which we discovered is toxic due to being grown in toxic soil. Very difficult.

So how to process this extreme situation in our soils. I am fortunate enough to have a small space where I can experiment with all of this. Also I have a friend who likes to garden, too. So I thought I would turn this situation into a positive note with the energy of our beautiful goddess, Scota, for whom Scotland is named, and create something wonderful. I am reading a book called How to Grow More Vegetables Than you Ever Thought Possible on Less Land Than You Can Imagine, which is by John Jeavons as my primary resource on what to do. 

Day 1: 

Soil is Everything. 

The quality of your soil is what gives nutrients to the plants. Upon observation I discovered there are several types of soil in my garden: soil which has been contaminated to some degree by debris from the roof which is probably a micro plastic - that appears as a very dry soil or dust. Then there is the general ground which has overgrown with a plant called yellow clover and also with some crabgrass. This soil has maintained a number of succulent plants. Then finally there is the garden bed which has some soil which was seeded and where presently some aloe and flowered plants grow - but no vegetables yet.

I am interested in discovering more about how to develop the highest quality soil for growing. I'd like to learn much more about the composition of the soil and how to make it ideal for providing high nutrients to our plants. 

In Elven World Book II Star Travelers when Anya of Earth visits other planets, she discovers new and more effective methods of growing and being a steward to the land. In these places they have varying factors but essentially water, soil - or nutrient dense material is required for growing and some process from the sun or some source that initiates photosynthesis or some similar catalyst to growth.
