A Raven flies forever in black ink beneath the crash of thunder,

wings spread above nine stars,

between mountains shredded in twain with gaping crevasses

where memories once remained & carved red into living memory,

soon to fade to white-on-white but never to fade completely..

Ink sketched out with needles, like a razor blade stylus..

Nervous fingernails all etch out an undesirable message of pain..

I cannot forget..

I can only survive, hands marked in red blood draw out feathers and wings..

beady eyes and sharp beaks, struggling to create the colour of life from a blank page canvass..

three dimensions from two,

in the hope that it can fly away and take me with it to the sun..

I struggle in vain to coaxe out my own battlefield Raven to carry my soul away from my traumatized body,

up into infinity without prolonged pain..

still I remain trapped in what appears like a two-dimensional plane,

awaiting flight but never quite able to spread my wings out far enough..

Like a figure in graphite standing frozen on a blank page..

I almost watch myself bleed just to see if I can,

I cant say I know, anymore what I am..

Marble skin over pulsing veins, cut in deep to release,

let it out with the blood and salt let it out cause its not your fault,

Summon the Ravens with their copper scent like the crimson blossom,

summon the black-winged Valkyrie, 

dark as obsidian and surrender to their embrace,

unleash the spell adrift upon the ancient runes..

Like a Shamanic mantra ritual unfolding, set the runes on fire..

I long to be carried away, but there is no place for me in Valhalla,

take me instead to the virgin wilds,

untouched by men,

then on to the mountains by the ocean and the ancient trees,

where I can exist without feeling precise & without pain,

body-less in the endless passage of time...

As missing is but only a snowflake in the sky..

Set my spirit free to fly with the Ravens,

torn loose from blank paper, out of this flat dimension,

never to be touched again by the shaping stylus of cruel or careless human hands..

I watch myself bleed just to see if I can..and the world turns..

and  I remain caught beneath its wheel & cogs struggling to find some benefit to my peculiar form of existence..

I shall walk in the water as a shadow made of dust..

 longing to see what lies beyond the matrix veil, between this dimension and the next..

wondering in what way does life continue in that forbidden realm..

What is death? but a shedding of ones body, the loosening of the spirit?

Perhaps we fear it only because it is forever the unknown..

Raven Leads My Way Again..
