Soul Journeys in the Multiverse - Nature, Metaphysics, Mythology & The Arts

So...I was getting more than a little frustrated with myself yesterday.
I had a great idea some months ago, to make myself and my bridesmaid (my sister) a pashmina/shawl made from very fine silk, which I was intending to handpaint with some butterfly designs and then sew on silk flowers and embellish them with small sequins and beads.
I designed them and they looked great, fairly simplistic on paper and compared to things I have designed and made in the past VERY easy!

However, other than a Pre-gutted, silk scarf for my Grandma which I painted last Christmas...I haven't done any silk painting since coming out of hospital last year.
So it was a bit of a shock to me yesterday, when I came to gutta the designs onto my beautiful, fine chiffon-silk and I simply couldn't control my shakes enough to create the smooth lines I wanted. The overall shapes are still recognisable and Chris says they are still stunning etc (I'm sure he's just being nice)
I just hope they look ok once the paint goes on...

It makes me sad to think that I might not be as good as I once was though...at least I've still got it when it comes to my jewellery and sewing. Maybe it's becauase I can put that down when I get tired and it feels less demanding to me as it's always been so natural and felt easy to me.

I promise (as always) once I have some decent shots of the silk pashminas, I'll post some pics up for you all!

I also wanted to say thanks for you kind welcome, messages and comments on my work. It means a lot to know other extremely talented people think my work is good ^_^

Multi Dimensional Reality

The world as you know it - all that you see, taste, feel and touch, comprises only about 5% of all of the stuff of the universe. The other 95% is what we have considered "nothing" or the "firmament"  or dark matter or the heavens or mystic Other Worlds. This 95% is multi-dimensional and consists of potential realities that may be perceived.

A single thought...a mere whisper, ...... barely upon a breeze that catches a spark... all is tinder before the firestorm... and yet.
ONLY that whisper
ONLY that thought
the world is forever changed beyond the fears and dreams of cardboard men.
Freedom and change starts within:
It is encouraged by truth and courage of people who love
Built by the respect of true beings standing as one before each other.
Lets us cross every man made borders
without fear stare into eyes and hearts of all our brothers and sisters: within our words without shouting,or force to hold each to our truths; and let us without fear freely share what works...

Li Shangyin ~ Poet of the Tang Dynasty

Li Shangyin (李商隐; ca. 813–858), courtesy name Yishan (义山), was a Chinese poet of the late Tang Dynasty, born in Henei (now Qinyang, Henan). Along with Li He, he was much admired and “rediscovered” in the 20th century by the young Chinese writers for the imagist quality of his poems. He is particularly famous for his tantalizing “no title” (无题) poems.Li had a moderately…See More
