The builders had planted a rose hedge as part of the landscaping of the estate where I live. Over the years some of the bushes died, so I'm glad I got a few pictures along the years

I like the frilled pink n while daffodil? in your comment above, I dont have any of those and would so love those in my garden..

Ahhh yes the daffodil...this year they didn't make an appearance and for a few years they haven't shown.  Being clay soil, bulbs, despite lots of natural garden compost don't fare so well Vlada.  What you need to watch for if you manage to find this variety is their flower heads are very heavy and if there's wind and rain when they bloom they're on the ground getting splashed and muddy, but I loved them when they were blooming.  I can't remember the type of daffodil as it's probably going back to when the garden was being established.

I just took a look online on Thompson and Morgan site Vlada...these look very similar but in a variety of colours

Oh I can see that yes it would be top heavy when wet, best in a pot on a patio maybe..your meant to lift them during winter  after flowering tie the leaves in a knot & let the leaves go yellow,lift them & put in dry storage so the ground dosn't rot them in winter & then plant them out again just before spring..

They call the Citrus Sorbet daffodil a narcissus double hybrid over here,it really is beautiful..I might get a few just for a display.

The flower is lovely, hope you find some.  I used to live quite near to Spalding, so when living in that region I used to buy bulbs from the big garden centre about half hour drive away.  Now there's only a patch of narcissus in the front flower bed which seem to be multiplying slowly.  Yes I used to tie the green leaves in a knot cut seed heads off etc, then over the years I've lapsed and just cut the daffs for vases as its usually wet and windy when they bloom.

Ahh a Scottish Heather plant & primulas,very pretty..I loved those when I was in the Lake districts, we have Heather bushes over here,they grow in sandy rocky type land area that looks like Scotland,think the early settlers bought it over to remind them of home,now it took off also..but its not a problem plant though..I find it growing in a lot of places with good drainage..I will find some of those narcissus daffodils come closer to Spring I'm sure.

Yes heathers love mum's soil quite sandy and built up on a bank, here I've grown heathers in tubs as they're not keen on the soil here.

they're so delicate and I always smile when they bloom Vlada, they don't stay out for long and yes they're very pretty

Yes I have single begonias self seeded in my garden like the one above & I have a star leaf begonia inside which was given to me by a client..

I had one beautiful pink & white hydrangea but it got a bug and died on me,so havn't tried growing any again..but I love the white pyramid types,did I share that before I think I did on another post..

I used to have a big begonia indoors for many a year, lovely decorative houseplant with dark green aerated leaves and white spots...dad took to growing begonias in big tubs in his garden and I always said I love to have a try at growing them.  I've grown the little ones that get used as bedding, the little orange ones with bright yellow centres.

I had one pink hydrangea in another border but for some reason that one died, they're quite prone to frosting, both bushes were cuttings, in fact most of the garden was grown from cuttings, it's good to think of the people that have donated to my garden over the years.  

I have a lovely climbing hydrangea white and with a big flower head, that one has to have a regular trim up as its a vigorous grower.
