Selenite stone does not “melt” in water, however, it is slightly soluble in water. So, you could say it “dissolves” in water instead. The solubility of Selenite crystals is ~2.0–2.5 g/l at 25 °C. So, in one liter of water at room temperature, 2.5g of your stone will go into solution. If your stone weighs 2.5g or less, it will disappear in water.

See so there is no way its Selenite or gypsum cos gypsum is a version of selenite..

Oh no just saw your ink to Ulexite nope its not that, it has definite lines running through it and yes it is iridescent or opeque looking,just like Selenite but its way harder than Selenite if I tapped Selenite it bruises into white spots on it or it would chip or crack, this dosnt damage tapping it on a hard surface..I've tried & tested it like that its really got me baffled..

Nope its not gypsum as its too weak a stone and it dissolves in water too,and survives in higher temps only.... hense why they closed the Naicas's largest gypsum caves in Spain cos the gypsum crystals were dissolving just from peoples breath...no this stone this is way way harder.. but thanks for searching Julie..but keep looking..its a lovely thing to touch,its cold on the body,maybe that's why it was chosen to cool a Victorian lady down IDK I'm surmising here...

Ulexite or sometimes called TV stone - this link shows pictures Vlada, it's a possibility - it's still a possible on selenite as it looks slightly iridescent, a very unusual piece...how does it make your energy field feel

Yes we have Quartz everywhere,here being in the Gold area,..so they dont really attract me anymore which is a shame aye,but I still love hunting for them on my treks regardless...Now I have a question for you both,I have a necklace I found at a garage sale years ago that's solid sterling silver & has some precious gemstone on it.. but I cant find what gemstone it is,so I'm gonna add photo's of it and post them below,just to see if either of you ladies maybe could identify it for me, I've searched online,but nothing is popping out to me..its rather a old piece,early 1800's I've been told by a antique dealer..I first thought it might be a Grey Selenite,cos its got ridges on it,but its not fragile enough to be Selenite.. as its rock hard dosn't chip,has a cold feeling to the touch..its kinda got a iridescence with definate curved ridges running down its full length of each bead its extremely well made..anyway see what you think it could be..I'm most interested on your ideas..

I have a calcite pyramid and lemurian crystals, also the triangular one with pyramids/triangles.  I've bought several quartz from cavern shops and mine shops in Wales Vlada.  There is one particular dirty looking quartz that looks like it has a number 5 on it.  One of my favourites, not sure if I have a picture of this one

Must be great to find crystals in your garden.  In my front border when I first moved in I found stones that looked pebble shape and reminded me of a dirty looking amber.  Was never sure quite what they were.

My feeling was that I should press the raised isis quartz shape on the crystal and raise it to my 3rd eye Vlada, I may try it again.  I've had the big quartz for many a year so I can't remember if anything happened at the time I did my tune in.  I used to write my experiences, then perhaps I added them to poems in later years. 

Yes I've collected crystals for years, or they've collected me.  I dream about crystals at certain times, sometimes I find them, sometimes they signify shifts in my energy/changes.

It's wonderful to find crystals, it feels so special.  One of my big finds was just that a huge quartz chunk had fallen and I felt moved to take a small piece for my garden.  I did a ceremony of thanks as I walked down the river valley and added some small crystals to the river to say thank you for the gifting.  This was pretty near to a waterfall at the end of Lake Vyrnwy in Wales.

As a child I remember my parents taking me up to a gold mine in Wales and I found a quartz there with a tiny bit of gold, always felt like a treasure and I used display all my finds on what I called my nature table.

I should also share my crystal collections in this way also..I have so many..my most precious being a meteorite with crystals in it, a raw shell opel & a raw ruby I found in a stream,but I have many other quartz I've found..I can find crystal quartz on mass here even in my own garden as I live in a very volcanic area and a gold mining community..I'll do a post to share mine..a few years ago I collected so many I decided to gift them to people online,until the post went sky high and it just wasn't viable..
