Yes its shocking whats going on, I'm convinced this mental illness cloud across the world has been gaining strength rather than falling away.. everywhere you look or read you see Trumps face, or you see Putin's face, or wars in Gaza, Ukraine etc or something negative,... now its this shooting of this woman, before that it was the shooting of Kirk, before that it was Elon Musk doing Nazi fist on stage & rowing with Trump and ditching his job, before that it was Trumps assassination attempt and his bleeding ear made out to be torn to bits when it was no more than a scratch lol... what was that all about anyway.. oh the list is endless with crap,..

I'm rather sick of America to be honest, I need a break from seeing the hatred there from online.. yes if you cant walk in your own forest then its bad in your country too, no one is safe anymore anywhere.. and your right they will be dealing out of the Vape shops for sure,seedy places and are these vape shops run by immigrant's too? 

As for councils not upkeeping things in towns like roading & sewerage mains etc then where is your rates money going..I said this just the other week to a person, in this town I live in I havn't seen the Mayor since Christmas 2 yrs ago and he's done zilch in this town, but line his back pockets with our money,.. we still have bad roads, still have electricity issues, still water issues and now they have upped the water rates prices and are now going to charge us extra for every toilet pan we have in our homes, the greedy sods just want more and more money from us who own our own homes.

What happened in regards to that breach in the canal, did they get the peoples boats out, I hope your friend & his canal boat wasn't caught up in that,.. it would have been way scary being it happened at night time with no lighting being in the country..it left many stranded too.

I dont know how this world is going to get any better now cos its slipping into the gutter fast..in the mean time in other Ning sites you have people thinking the world is controlled by Galactic Federation aliens and now I've really heard it all:-

Yes the news on the whole hasn't done much to lift that cloud that gathers whenever the information is fed to the public, so I try and avoid what I can and concentrate locally when I can.

The big worry has been in this area that the reservoir that's fed from the Llangollen canal will keep a constant supply of water for the residents in the areas affected.  The river that feeds the canal is from the welsh mountains so there's quite a big flow, unlike most canals where the water is quite still...apart from around the locks where things get a bit turbulent at times!

Ahhh yes the Whitchurch breach, I've been following the course of events on Youtube Vlada.  I remember well sitting in my living room listening to the news about the boats that were affected.  The progress made has been very good considering that the country has indeed had such cold weather and snow over the last few weeks.

We're based on a marina off the Shropshire Union canal.  Some of the water got pumped from the Shroppie I think into the Llangollen canal where the breach happened just after 4am on the 22nd December.

The two guys who were near to the breach set up a go fund me and raised over £100,000!  Donations came in from all over the world.  A situation which warmed the heart, something to focus on, as it shows there is some good in this world that's struggling through what seems one disaster after another.

When we watched the latest Youtube last night, the boat rescue team were preparing a slipway to move one of the two boats stuck in the breach hole.  The first boat to be moved was the one which was teetering on the edge of the breach when the event happened. This boat has been taken to a local marina to check out the hull and engine.

From what I heard last night one of the boats stuck in the breach is partially submerged in mud and has water inside.

The shock of what happened left me in tears Vlada, because I guess you wonder what would have happened if the boat you have looked after for years got caught up in an event like this.  The embankment collapse letting the canal water flood into the field next to the canal and boats were left at odd angles where they were moored as there was only water in the centre of the canal.  Those boats were moved pretty quickly when the pumps were installed to that section of canal.  Many boats were stranded near to Llangollen so they are being moved by road to other sections of the canals.  I haven't much information at present whether the Canal and River Trust are moving them or whether the owners are paying to be craned out.

There's been such a lot of talk on 3I Atlas, but what caught my attention today was on my daily email from EarthSky news about star Mira, a red giant, which our sun will become in around 5 billion years.

I remember writing a poem back in 2012 called Mira the Wonderful, I'm not too sure what triggered the poem, but it was certainly quite a big trigger at the time.

Yeah I was watching the very first video on Youtube in the morning of the Llangollen canal breach, at 4am morning,.. onboard one of the boats, he was filming it all, it wasn't even on our daily morning news as yet it was just loaded and only had like 4 views on it, woah it was scary stuff as he didn't know if he was going to be dragged down into the sinkhole himself, he was moored with spikes each end of the boat but one of his spike moorings was already pulling out the ground as it was so wet..

You could see in the morning why it breached the metal sides of the canal had totally rusted away, they had never been maintained in centuries by the looks, so their strength in holding the water logged ground from collapsing was compromised.. well its good they have got onto it fast, cos these are not just boats they are home as well.. and they cant just lift them out in a instant they have to arrange cranes to be able to get to them. Its nice to know people helped them out financially with the donations for sure, these folk on these boats are mostly pensioners & with low incomes..

Its a good job you wern't in that area going through that.. but it could happen on any of these canal's cos they are so damn old and no maintenance of the stop bank side metal linings..

anyway lets hope 2026 is a better year, but so far it hasnt got off to a very good start with murder, abuse & fighting and a sick twisted mind President doing major harm to a whole country and the world, how he can sleep at night I dont know but if he is he totally has no soul..

Just managed to get a quick look today as I'm not a facebook member.

Yes the canals here are pretty ancient and often have huge embankments where boats often moor.  There's a huge embankment at the local canal basin near to where I live and I know these embankments are inspected regularly but I guess when erosion/corrosion happens it's inevitable for something to happen after the weather last year.  It was extremely dry, then extremely wet and stormy.  

I found out this morning that the farmer who owned the flooded field had only moved his sheep from there 3 day previous to the breach, so maybe he'd noticed the field was wetter than usual, then over a period of days when we had a lot of rain the sandy soil got so full of moisture it just collapsed.  Part of the embankment I believe is held together by tree roots so luckily it didn't shift otherwise the boats might have ended up in the field below!

Gees I can so envisage all that happening you just stated, its in my minds eye, has something like this ever happened before somewhere else?, cos that image is really strong almost surreal. Those people were lucky their homes wern't fully torn apart when that sinkhole gave way.. and that they had insurance, you'd have to if you own a canal boat cos many issues can arise even if this one was a less likely envisioned occurrence, but that farmer was lucky he didn't loose his whole sheep flock.. many people have lost a load of money in that breach from the boat owners, to the farmer, to the council having to repair it.. I just read this morning that now Trump is trying to steal Greenland & now Denmark, just what's going on in that guys head, to try and steal countries,.. it appears as like he's trying to take over the world, what a vile man he really is.. he's not helping America be beautiful that's for sure.. and I read another victim of ICE was shot in the leg, these guys are trying so hard to turn America into a police controlled state arn't they.

They really are thugs and I hope they don't get away with hurting these people, and I also read they brutally shot a guy in the eye with a rubber bullet now he's blinded.. and they seriously injured another guy his name was Orbin Mauricio, as they dragged him from his car at a Petrol Station...This thuggery has to stop.. I really am pleased I live in New Zealand, if I had to put up with being fearful of going outside my home cos of these thugs, I'd so want to die.. they are really taking away peoples freedoms.
